DG Container

Dangerous Goods Containers are specialized containers designed for safely shipping or storing hazardous materials such as chemicals, flammable liquids, or other dangerous goods.

These containers are equipped with bunded flooring, a key feature that ensures any spills or leaks are contained, preventing them from escaping into the environment. The bunded floor acts as a secondary containment system, catching and storing accidental spills during transit or storage, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. These containers are engineered to meet stringent safety standards, protecting both the goods and the surrounding environment.

Dangerous goods containers can be used to store and transport substances classified into nine different classes under the IMDG Code:

  1. Class 1: Explosives
  2. Class 2: Gases (flammable, non-flammable, and toxic)
  3. Class 3: Flammable liquids
  4. Class 4: Flammable solids, substances liable to spontaneous combustion
  5. Class 5: Oxidizing substances and organic peroxides
  6. Class 6: Toxic and infectious substances
  7. Class 7: Radioactive material
  8. Class 8: Corrosive substances
  9. Class 9: Miscellaneous dangerous goods (including environmentally hazardous substances)

environments.

Why Choose LEETA for Your Custom Dangerous Goods Containers?

Beyond Standard Heights

Need to store taller IBCs or stack drums more efficiently? We offer customizable internal heights to maximize your vertical storage capacity, something standard containers often limit.

Tailored Interiors

From integrated shelving units for smaller containers to robust grid floors for superior drainage and easy cleaning, we design the internal layout to optimize every inch for your specific dangerous goods.

Versatile Chemical Storage

Our containers are engineered to store a wide range of chemical classes, including 3 (flammable liquids), 4.1 (flammable solids), 4.3 (dangerous when wet), 5.1 (oxidizing substances), 6.1 (toxic substances), and 8 (corrosives), subject to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) compliance. This versatility makes it an ideal solution for various industries.

Premium Stainless Steel Bunds

Unlike standard painted steel bunds, our optional full stainless steel bunds provide superior chemical resistance, longevity, and easier decontamination, crucial for corrosive substances.

Enhanced Bund Capacity

Go beyond the minimum 25%! For extremely hazardous materials or higher volume storage, we can engineer increased bund capacities to offer an unparalleled margin of safety against spills.

The steel components should undergo degreasing and shot blasting both before and after forming. Shot blasting should meet the Swedish standard Sa 2½, with a surface roughness between 25 μm and 35 μm. This process removes all rust, mill scale, and other contaminants to ensure optimal adhesion of the coating.- Primer: Epoxy zinc-rich primer, DFT 30 μm

Customize Your DG Container Now!

If you need 10Ft DG container, MOQ is 2 Sets considering the purchasing cost. Becuase for 1 set, it is very time consuming waiting for an avaliable vesssel space. Normally, we combine the 2 sets 10Ft Container together. So that you can arrange shipment.

For 20Ft DG container, as there is bund design, so the height is higher than standard 20Ft container, buying 1 set is OK. But it will take longer time to book the vessel. Becuase not each vessel company accepts higher 20Ft container, the ocean freight cost is higher.

30 Ft DG Container is not a very common size. But some clients need to put some equipment inside it. We can customize it for you, no problem.

Custom size is supported.

100% Corten Steel, Global Standard, Weather Resistance.

There are normaly 2 types, most common type: corten steel, zinc-rich primer, acrylic topcoat. Another option is stainless steel 316, if the chemical that you store is Extremely corrosive. Please consult your local DG expert and choose the best solution. We will produce accordingly.

Normally 2 solutions: One is corten steel with hot dip galvanized. The other option is stainless steel 304/316.

Firstly, please check what is the total chemial volume that you are planning to store. Noramally,  the bund volume should be 25% of the total packages stored. If you are not quite sure, please consult your local DG expert. It may vary based on specific chemicals.

For our 20Ft DG Container, the bund capacity we produce is 3000L to 3100L, which is higher than standard. For 40Ft DG Container, the bund volume is 5000L.

This refers to containers where both ends can be fully opened. Typically, the doors on both sides open completely, allowing for easy loading and unloading of cargo. It can be called “full-open doors” or “fully open doors.”

This design is suitable for situations where complete access is needed, especially for large or oversized cargo that requires entry from different angles.

Two doors on each side, meaning there are four doors in total on the left and right sides of the container, which can be opened individually. This design allows flexible loading and unloading from the sides of the container.

– Primer: Epoxy zinc-rich primer, DFT 30 μm

– Internal Coat: Epoxy finish (RAL custom color), DFT 40 μm

If the bund is corten steel, we will use Zinc-rich primer + acrylic topcoat. If the bund is stainless steel, there is no other coating.

If the grid floor is corten steel, we will use Hot dip galvanized, which has great anti-corrosion ability. If the grid floor is stainless steel, there is no other finishing.

We can fabricate a single shelf rail inside the container so the goods are not double stacked inside on top of each other. This way the client can select the bottom pallet individually.

A 40’ Ft Container with doors down both long sides will hold 32 pallets/IBCs.

If you need an extra insulation layer inside the container, we can surely custom it for you.
